The Office of Arts and Culture proudly partners with local municipalities, arts and culture organizations and artists to host dialogues and workshops about relevant issues and opportunities for all members of our arts and culture community.

For this year’s Santa Barbara Arts Symposium, we will partner with the City, Housing Authority, CAW, RRM and SBCAST to explore opportunities for a sustainable future. Attendees will enjoy a screening of Miracle on 42nd Street, chronicling the history of Manhattan Plaza, one of the first subsidized housing spaces for artists.
Afterwards, join local housing experts and artists as well as the film’s producer for a moderated panel about affordable housing needs and opportunities in Santa Barbara.
At the event, we will share a new survey for artists, cultural practitioners and organizations about affordable housing and workspace.

All interested community members are invited to join the Elverhøj Museum, the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission and the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture for a dialogue about the cultural vitality of arts in the Santa Ynez Valley.
