ART Awards

 
 

The City of Santa Barbara’s “Business in Art” Award was established to recognize and celebrate local businesses that uplift arts and culture through exemplary and innovative programs or practices.

Nominations open until Nov. 15, 11:59 p.m.

The Santa Barbara community is invited to nominate businesses that demonstrate commitment to the cultural vibrancy of Santa Barbara through: support for artists/culture bearers/creatives, and arts and culture organizations through collaborations or partnerships, innovative programs or methods, and/or philanthropy.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates for the award must conduct business within Santa Barbara City Limits as a retail or commercial establishment, sole practitionership, LLC, or corporation. Businesses that have already received the award are not eligible for consideration.

 

PROCESS

The nomination process is open to all members of the Santa Barbara community. Nominations must be submitted online here.

Nominators should provide specific examples to support the following criteria:

  • Distinguished leadership in support of the arts through partnerships, innovative methods or programs, or philanthropic contributions

  • A large scope of impact and support that extends beyond immediate business interests

  • A visionary and innovative approach to championing the arts

  • Successful cultivation of relationships and partnerships with individual artists and/or organizations in the arts community

  • Significantly benefitted or improved the arts and culture community

 

All nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by the City Arts Advisory Committee. Award recipients will be notified at the email address provided in the submission form and receive a framed certificate as well as recognition through social media channels.

The Leadership in the Arts Award was established in 2006 by the Santa Barbara County Arts Commission as an annual award “to honor and recognize individuals or organizations that have made a significant impact on the arts and culture of our region through innovative thinking and exemplary commitment to promoting sustaining, and advancing our quality of life through the Arts.”
