“New Muralism: Inclusive Visions of Self and Place”

CHANNING PEAKE GALLERY: The exhibition features artwork from six artists who work out of Slingshot / Alpha Art Studio, a progressive art center that supports artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Santa Barbara County. Ten mural-scale works rendered from the artists’ original work to the size of the gallery panels create an immersive gallery experience.

BETTERAVIA GALLERY: Curated by PINAYSHPERE, this exhibition features 47 artworks by artists identifying as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) with a goal of providing a platform for their diverse perspectives & lived experiences as first or second-generation individuals in the United States. Mediums include paintings, digital drawings, mixed media & photography.

SANTA BARBARA CITY HALL: This exhibition features illustrations from “Free at Last: A Juneteenth Poem,” a children’s book written by Poet Laureate Emerita Sojourner Kincaid Rolle and illustrated by Alex Bostic. On display also are four historical panels on loan from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee of Santa Barbara with photography by Rod Rolle.
