“New Muralism: Inclusive Visions of Self and Place”

BETTERAVIA GALLERY: The exhibition features artwork from six artists who work out of Slingshot / Alpha Art Studio, a progressive art center that supports artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Santa Barbara County. Ten mural-scale works rendered from the artists’ original work to the size of the gallery panels create an immersive gallery experience.

SANTA BARBARA CITY HALL GALLERY: This exhibition includes historical photographs of the development of the Santa Barbara Harbor, which is one of the last working harbors in the state. The show also includes photos from Our Channel Islands by Ernest H. Brooks II, who is renowned for his innovative underwater photography techniques.

CHANNING PEAKE GALLERY: Featuring renderings and drawings from the Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ annual juried Design Awards Program, the exhibit showcases outstanding local architectural achievements across categories such as Commercial Buildings, Residential Projects, and Historic Preservation. Also on display are delightful sketches from the award-winning Kids Draw Architecture program, which has inspired young artists to explore the built environment since 1990..
